Reading Wranglers

Join us for another season of Reading Wranglers with Renew Therapeutic Riding Center! This is a unique opportunity for children to read 1-on-1 to a horse. Reading Wranglers is a particularly powerful experience for readers who may be struggling a bit or need to gain confidence. Studies show that kids tend to see animals as non-judgmental (they certainly don't mind if you make a mistake!) and that reading to them helps improve kids' reading skills and fluency. Renew's therapy horses are professionals at creating a relaxed, low-stress environment with no humans hovering as the kids read.

The Reading Wranglers program is for children ages 6-12 who can sit with a book and read independently. The program is facilitated by certified professionals at Renew in partnership with HDL and will take place once a week for 6 weeks. Registration is required, and space is limited to 8 participants each week.

Fridays April 17-May 29 from 4:00-4:45 (no meeting on May 1)
