Self-Publishing Your Sci-Fi / Fantasy Novel

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Herrick Main Library

Description

You’ve written a book, but how do you get it into the hands of readers? We’ll discuss all the fun stuff that comes after writing: editing, formatting, cover design, distribution, and marketing. What you can do yourself, where to find resources, and what you should and shouldn’t pay for.

(This program is a part of HDL’s summer Science-Fiction & Fantasy Writing Series)

About the presenter:

Jean Davis writes an array of speculative fiction and plays with chickens. When not ruining fictional lives from the comfort of her writing chair, she can be found devouring books and sushi, weeding her flower garden, or picking up hundreds of sticks while attempting to avoid the abundant snake population that also shares her yard. She lives in West Michigan with her musical husband, an attention-craving terrier, and a mostly friendly flock of fluffy fowl.

She has written short story collections, a space opera series, stand-alone novels, children’s books about her chickens, many projects that aren’t yet finished, and a lot of pages that you will never see.
