In this one-hour presentation, presenter Katherine Willson will discuss the history of the U.S. Federal Census, compare the census changes from its inception in 1790 through 1950, examine some of the problems or errors that we discover when analyzing census data, and wrap up with suggestions for incorporating data from state and federal censuses plus non-population schedules to create a fuller picture of our ancestors’ lives. A handout will accompany the presentation, and a Q&A session will follow.
